COP – Curriculum

HANDS-ON LEARNING
Each week centres on a different aspect of film, such as photography, audio, video, or theatre.

Workshops focus on 3 main areas:
– Audio-visual arts
– Theatre arts
– Visual arts

Participants learn to use the equipment available to them all year long to create their own projects on a wide variety of themes and explore multiple forms of media and narration.

Participants also learn film history, an introduction to the contemporary world, graphic design, communication, the web, and film analysis, and they review general subjects, such as English, speech, and writing. The objective is not only to bolster their knowledge, but also to increase their confidence in their own abilities to learn, grasp concepts, and expand their visual and artistic experiences.

AN INTRODUCTION TO ART AND CULTURE
Each week, participants attend a different cultural field trip – a contemporary art biennial, a visit to a museum of communication and printing, the Festival Lumière in Lyon, the Villeurbanne film shorts festival – in addition to dance and theatre performances at the Maison de la Danse or the Célestins theatre.

AN INTRODUCTION TO CAREERS
Participants meet with professionals in a variety of fields throughout the year to explore different careers, such as costume designer, sound manager, lighting manager, editor, director of photography, key grip, producer, and mixer.

PERSONALISED SUPPORT
The COP programme provides individual support and periodic assessments to adapt lessons to participants’ needs and adjust their curriculum. We are attuned to our participants and strive to adapt experiences to their demonstrated desires and skills. Our priority is to place participants on the right path. We also help them prepare applications and contest entries that they present at the end of the year.
